Coaching courses for the career path qualifications are organised and run throughout the year by the Academy.
The Academy runs two Official Residential Courses each year (at Easter and Summer). They are staffed by highly qualified, experienced and well-motivated Academy Coaches.
There are also individually organised courses run by Academy Masters.
Details are always available on request from the Course Officer.
If you are running a course please inform the Course Officer so that coaches can be aware of all coach education opportunities.
Special Reminder to ALL BAF Coach Educators and Examination Organisers
Examination Courses must be notified to the Course Officer in advance of their occurrence, otherwise the examination results could be considered non-valid.
Advanced and Diploma examinations will only be held on BAF Official Residential Courses, except in the case of Special Examinations.
Coach Educators should ensure that they obtain copies of all new documentation from the SSTT or the Course Officer.
With effect from January 2004 BAF Examinations (other than the Official BAF examinations) will not be sanctioned within a period two weeks before or two weeks after the BAF Official Courses.
Course organisers and candidates should noted that the current version of the Syllabuses and questions is Issue 4 - September 2006. All other versions are now superseded and should be destroyed. The new versions can be obtained from the Course Officer.
Coaching Courses - Advanced Diploma
Are you planning to take an Advanced or Diploma Examination at one of next year’s courses? The key to success is adequate preparation and the Academy is offering you a chance to prepare under expert guidance.
There will be a series of training days arranged at various venues, which, taken together, will form a “mini-course”, aimed specifically at people taking these higher-level examinations. You must be serious enough about preparing for the examination to be willing to travel to all the venues and play a full part in taking this unique opportunity.
The first session will be a complete weekend, on October 20th and 21st, at Westwood College (New Site), Westwood Park Avenue, Leek, Staffordshire, ST13 8NP. Sessions start at 10am both days.
Further sessions are planned for Early December 2007, early January 2008 (possibly the day after the AGM 6th Jan 2008) and February 23rd and 24th (one month before the Easter Course).
The Coach Educators will be Prof. Philip Bruce, Prof. Andrew Vincent and Prof. Tom Etchells. This is a team that has already helped several coaches to achieve these high level qualifications and their experience could help you to adopt an approach to the exams that suits your style of coaching and gives you the best opportunity for success.
Places on these training days are likely to be limited. If you feel you can show a serious intention, desire and motivation for taking the Academy’s premium examinations, contact the Course Officer, Prof. Tom Etchells, as soon as possible for more details.
N.B. If you are preparing for Level 2 or 3 examinations and would like to attend these training days, please contact the Course Officer, who may be able to accommodate you.
